“Committed” is used because it has a negative connotation that “done” doesn’t.
Also, in some phrases it sounds unnatural to use “done”. I don’t think there’s a consistent rule for it unfortunately - it’s just something that has to be memorized. “Committed” is always for bad things though.
✅ commit an error
✅ make an error
❌ do an error
✅ commit a crime
❌ do a crime (sometimes younger people say “do crimes” as a joke though. It sounds kind of childish.)
✅ commit murder
❌ do murder

have been committed = have been done, have been carried out
“Commit” is sometimes used instead of “do” if the thing being done is bad: ex. “commit a crime”
“the manner in which they conduct themselves after the faults have been committed” = “how they act after they’ve done (the) bad things”

I see, I understand now.😃
But why bother to use "committed"?
It's easier to use "done" (to me).
What does it mean to use "committed" and "done" differently?

That's wonderful! It's very clear now.
"Committed" has a negative connotation, doesn't it? I didn't see it in the dictionary.
Thank you very much.😃

You’re welcome, I’m glad it makes sense! 😄
Other uses of “committed”, like to mean “determined”, don’t have a negative connotation, but when it’s used this way it does.
