Question à propos de Anglais (USA)
Some people claim that MSG is bad for our health. That's because old research on MSG's health effects says that MSG is linked to obesity, metabolic disorders, and brain toxicity. I chose this topic to claim that MSG is in fact not bad for our health.

Does this sound natural?

@_SEOYEON_ “Some people claim that MSG is bad for our health. This stems from out-dated research linking MSG to obesity, metabolic disorders and brain toxicity. I chose this subject to claim that MSG is not, in fact, bad for your health.” Comments: (1) Very well written! (2) When listing more than 2 nouns, in American English, we do not put a comma before the “and” in front of the final noun. (3) “in fact” should be preceded and followed by a comma as well as placed after “is not” in order the emphasize the the word “not”. (4) “our/your health” could be replaced by “one’s health” if you want it to be more formal. (5) I changed “old research” to “out-dated research” under the assumption that there is new scientific evidence showing that the conclusions of the old research are not true (and that you are about to present that evidence to show that MSG is not bad for your health).

Close this is a bit better.

I picked this topic to make the claim that MSG is in fact not bad for our health.
